Or Pacific hurricanes move towards the west coasts of the Americas
Chosen Answer:
The Atlantic Hurricanes almost never hit Europe, but it happened at least once. 2005 was a very active hurricane season, so much so that the National Hurricane Center run out of names for the storms, and started using Greek letters.
Hurricane Vince formed on October 9, 2005 135 miles north-west of Funchal, in the Madeira Islands. Less than 24 hours later it weakened to a tropical storm as it moved north-east. It made a landfall in Spain on the morning of October 11 as a tropical depression.
The Pacific Hurricanes hitting the West Coast of Mexico and Baja California are quiet common, especially if they form near the shore. The remnant low from these storms may reach as far north as Arizona. Some Pacific hurricanes that formed off Mexico have even reached Hawaii.
